If a customer is making a guitar using special or unusual woods, we can also make buttons specially for that guitar, using wood supplied by the customer.
The buttons are sanded, grain filled, and polished to produce a surface similar to that of the guitar.
Synthetic Ivory buttons are available in Oval, Kidney and Traditional patterns. It is a polymer material which looks very much like real Ivory, having both the correct colour and a fine graining within it's structure. These buttons are very popular, especially in the Traditional pattern.

Tuner Button Styles
Our standard specification tuners are fitted with oval shape buttons which are available in a variety of materials. We also have two other shapes available, Kidney pattern and Traditional pattern.
We supply buttons in several materials and a variety of woods as illustrated below. There are four types of Mother-of-pearl , two synthetic options and real light or dark pearl. Also we have a popular alternative Ivory which has fine graining within the material. The real bone is also a light coloured option with some of the buttons having a slight graining (click the image below for an illustration). Black horn is very popular. It has a high polish and can also have a grain (illustrated below).
The two synthetic Mother-of-pearl options are available to help luthiers and players transport their guitars across the US boarder without incurring customs difficulties.
All the oval pattern buttons excluding the wooden buttons, are priced within the standard price of a machine head. This gives you the option of a variety of buttons all at the same price.
